About Me
Hi, I'm Ellen! I help people feel positive and empowered to navigate midlife and beyond using techniques of behavior and habit design.
For 10 years, I've practiced the method called Tiny Habits®. It brought such positive transformation to my life that I got certified as a coach in 2019. I spent decades as a content writer in healthcare - I created physician, patient and health education on a wide range of media channels. I was part of the focus on disease, not health. We're surrounded by information that tells what we should do for our wellbeing and why we should do it. But no one tells us HOW to make these behaviors part of our days. Habit design is that missing link, to add life to those extra decades we want to enjoy. There is so much we can do for ourselves. So much we should be advocating for from our providers and lawmakers. Contact me to learn more about how I "count my days rightly" and how you can do the same! |
My Story
My mother received a PhD in gerontology in the 1970s and joined the faculty of a local medical college. After several years, her department was disbanded; medical students weren't interested in geriatrics, a speciality with lower status and pay...and without heroic cures for the diagnosis. But I got to watch her "walk the talk"...using the knowledge she had for maintaining a vibrant old age. Genetics and luck certainly play a role in how we grow older but more of the negatives effects of aging come from the behaviors we choose. I want to bring my mother's legacy into the 21st Century. We can choose successful habits to maintain our healthspan for life.
